Beat Hazard: Review

6. November 2025/0 Comments/in blog-803 /by manfred

This article is not quite ordinary. And although we are paying more and more attention to SGTV Live and Igrozors, I am not going to abandon the texts, so I offer you a little game: the author is the presenter, and you, the readers, are the main characters. Do you want? Those who don’t want to, haven’t read this far, so you have no choice, that’s how it is.

The rules of our mini-game are ridiculously simple. You don’t even have to do anything… almost. Find your favorite song on your computer, player, phone or anywhere else. Not the one you just like, but the one that touches you to the core. Find that track that makes you feel like you have an endless supply of energy in your chest, like you can move the heavens right this moment. Found? Great, that was the first stage. Now read to the end.

I will also include my favorite song, but for you. If possible, find headphones and turn up the volume as loud as possible (just don’t go deaf). The second stage begins here, turn it on (and do not forget that this is all for informational purposes).

Main character Beat Hazard – a small brave ship in a confined space of endless space. The classic scheme, it’s already thirty years old: one screen, along which a small star pelvis rushes with wild speed and dexterity, firing from guns at meteorites flying aimlessly and enemy spaceships flying with a very specific purpose. Three types of bonuses drop from the damaged bodies of enemies – stronger guns, higher volume and “+1” to multiply points. It’s more than primitive – it’s even more elegant than simple. This is a blatant use of an idea that once blew up the world with the first video games.

But it was worth adding everything one https://mindepositcasino.co.uk/dolphins-pearl/ detail, and the gameplay of once forgotten arcades (and some did not even have graphics – only conventional geometric shapes and lines) shines again with the withering light of a reviving phoenix. The developers made it so that everything depended on the volume and nature of the music – the number of enemies, the strength, power and visualization our weapons. At maximum height, the entire screen is flooded with light. Flashing to the beat, changing colors with the transitions, flowing faster or slower in direct proportion to the tempo. Where Freddie Mercury “Show must go on” drags on, a supernova is born, literally blowing away the boss and filling the screen with rapid streams of red, purple, and then sharply white colors, and this extravaganza multiplies, grows, spreads like a river..

In a loss, at the words “What ever happens”, fighters roll in in even waves, there are many of them, they fire missiles, but we dodge with ease. More serious guys pull up, stormtroopers swoop in like a cloud, two bosses appear at once and attack us. They are trying to somehow hurt our daring little ship, sending torpedoes, magnetic mines and other troubles. All this mixes into a homogeneous mess and fills the screen… Somewhere on the far edge of consciousness we understand that it is a miracle that we are still alive and we just need to hold on, survive. Here is another starship rushing by some micron from us, two of them are in pincers, a meteor is catching up from behind… the heart skips a beat… “In the dark I’m aching to be free”! The last moment is aggravating, your breath catches and… “Show must go on”! Enemies disintegrate into molecules in bewilderment. Charged in an instant with unbridled power, the guns pour out streams of pure energy on spiteful critics, our weapons can compete in power with quasars and ancient gods. Music is fighting on our side.

Alliance amplitude

The realization is shocking. In our favorite melodies we always know exactly when it will come the same one climax. The same one chorus, bridge, intro, transition, our moment. To survive (and this is the main goal – tracks are played over time), you will have to focus on the music. It is necessary practically rely on at her. Take her as an ally, together defeat everyone… even if they are not such evil enemies.

Beat Hazard captivates not with something unique. The idea is simple and is regularly implemented in different forms: Audiosurf, DDR, Guitar Hero. How popular are they?? Really want to know? People like to play music. Everyone wants to “sing with their souls,” you know?. Beat Hazard is the interface. We turn on our favorite track and translate the river of sound into color pictures in which everyone sees something different. We transform emotions from melody into action, truly creating something… and we still win – on difficulty up to Insane c Beat Hazard anyone can handle it. Euphoria from various sources and an immense feeling of strength and happiness – I have already heard from someone that “even though not S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but still better than sex".

If music for you is not just a way to drown out the rattling parts of a painted VAZ-2106, then Beat Hazard take a few hours out of life. Feed her without a doubt – spending time with your favorite melodies in your ears is better than killing yourself with cheap alcoholic cocktails and damaging your liver, kidneys and pancreas.

But I won’t tell you about levels, titles, achievements and additional bonuses associated with all this beauty. You’ll be glad for yourself. Don’t forget – the stronger the mood for music, the more fun. It all depends on you. And the third stage of our mini-game – write in the comments what song or melody you put in Beat Hazard first. Felt like she was fighting by your side?

Pros: bright colors; exciting and classic gameplay down to the last subatomic; achievements, levels and special abilities; the ability to choose your own music – any; interesting concept.
Cons: playing slow or quiet melodies is unrealistic, so records and exciting gameplay are achieved only with dynamic music, Drum’n’Bass does everything; epileptics will not be able to play.
