How I played Skyrim and how I liked it..

20. November 2025/0 Comments/in blog-413 /by manfred

But anyway, don’t care about her. I want to ask the question again:
Guys, aren’t we being put under too much pressure?? Aren’t we all too crazy?? It all means “Ilita” is to blame. Kulakov, “ilita” is a collection of avid bloggers who communicate very well, and not schoolboy tyrants and people who deny everything in the world. You are a switchman, IMHO. I just took it and got drunk. This is already arrogance – you sit and downvote everyone who downvotes Trushka. If she’s half-brainless or I’m wrong (which is most likely, because this is just my IMHO) someone just feels hostility, so why sit there like that?? “Ilita” is sitting here – that’s ok – they understand. But think about the newcomers, of whom there are now a sea. Maxim, don’t be like Oreshkin, be kind. Okay, if the author is an idiot, but if the head himself is an idiot, then that’s the end. And I personally respect you. At least I respected him for sure – I hope nothing changes. I know I’m a twink and you don’t care about me, but I’m not the only one. You fail on streams – that’s okay. You know how to review constructively – that’s the main thing. Your head is also in the right place, so what, you decided to become like the others? It will be sad. Oprichnikov appointed – ok… However, I will tell you that society will not become united from this. What did SG turn into?? The tape… drags. More specifically, Kost and Meshcheryakov.
BLOGS. WHAT HAPPENED TO US, GUYS?! WHAT’S HAPPENED?!

Isn’t it clear? This is love! It’s such a strong feeling. The strongest. Having experienced it, you will remember it forever, if you have a pure heart (but if you like flooding, then this is unlikely). Therefore, everything seems to be in order here, but it’s worth complaining about the violence, although the reason is already clear (it seems ;])
I believe that there is no need to rely on high-ratings. All…
And about flooding. Well… if you like flooding, then consult a doctor it’s your business.

I agree with you a https://tropical-wins.uk/bonus/ little, Amber, but:
1. The word "ilita" irritates me. WE SHOULD SAY “ELITE”!
2. Kulakov is probably, most likely, probably jealous and very fond of Trushka. Such feelings. Some people suffer because of the love of others. But they don’t suffer much (they are whole and unharmed, their things are intact and in place, just “aaah! I was downvoted! my life is over! I’m crying tears !"). So you just need to ask him to reduce his ardor of love to something that is “safe” for others. IMHO.
3. .
4. It seems to be PROFIT!

Z.Y. With blogs, everything is the same as before, they’re just growing up. Like all other people. Even like you, Ember!

No, not like before. There used to be Yeti, Secret, Emil, Kote, Shuans, FLOOD WAS ALLOWED! And please note, the flood was created by those who are now held in high esteem. I respect both Adolf and Kote, and all the old-timers of blogs, not because they have a high rate, but because everything in their heads is as it should be. Flood was going on… I WAS HIGH TO READ IT! This is the friendly atmosphere that amazed. Someone didn’t like the flood, they made smoking rooms… Everything seems to be fine… But as they say, forbid a Russian from eating with chopsticks and he will start eating with them simply because he can’t, although he never liked or held chopsticks from birth. Now it’s every man for himself. Let Kulakov love Trushka, this is a bright feeling. But isn’t it too fanatical for an adult?? I still think blogs aren’t what they used to be. Soon SG will get worse… Although God grant that SG flourishes!

I didn’t mention the author’s card-carrying behavior (you mean it’s a twink, not the main account Vega don’t twink). Don’t be afraid to speak your mind. After all, a plus or a minus is people’s disagreement with your opinion, or, worse, an attack by a shkolota. And perhaps there is class inequality in the sense of +/- about the authors. Kulakov did not agree with your opinion – bam! And you’re in the red! I wonder why this is so? What does the rating give you?? Why do you need to increase your minushammer size??

This is not karmadrochesky, this is something else… and minushammer is only for writing such posts and to stay afloat… and during the 9 stormy months of sailing I fell on SG so many times that I am already banned.

How do I see the finale of Gothic or the delirium of a fan?.

6. November 2025/0 Comments/in blog-413 /by manfred

Having recently read one post where a user described his invented games, he pushed me towards his personal fantasy (I hope not in vain). But here I described not a game I invented, but a fictitious continuation and completion of a story from the universe of the Gothic game, namely, the adventures of our nameless. How good is this idea, I hope to read your opinion in the comments. Those who don’t want to read the fan’s nonsense can immediately close this post, but if you still decide, well, let’s start.

As I remember the last https://lucky-carnival.uk/withdrawal/ part of Gothic, or rather Arcania Gothic 4, I somehow feel uneasy. They slip us another hero, and this is not what I was waiting for as a fan, but I wanted to once again plunge into the history and adventures of our usual nameless. But this is purely my opinion.
The plot of my plot is the same as in Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods. The main character returns back to earth to try on the warring sides. During the game we would travel around Mertana, find out the demands of all parties for reconciliation and look for compromises. And they would try to reconcile everyone, supporters of Beliar and Innos. Carrying out this whole process, we, in difficult ways, cement the mainland with the union of orcs and people, and they stop worshiping and praying to their gods Beliar and Innos (and I haven’t thought of a good reason for this yet).

And then I have this idea. Beliar and Innos, angry at the hero, as well as their former novices, combine their forces to destroy them all, and then create everything from scratch. The gods create a powerful army of darkness and light with one goal, to destroy. Just like an Easter egg, they should also add a Sleeper and an undead Dragon to the army. The army of the gods is awakening, so strong that people and orcs alone are not enough to protect. And then Xardas, appearing to the hero, reports that he needs to turn to Adanos, namely to one of the temples, which few knew about and only a chosen one could enter it. Before the start of the battle, the hero and Xardos teleport to the temple. The hero passes through the barrier, and Xardas returns back to the battlefield. Having reached the main hall, there was a huge statue standing in the center, all shining, and it was impossible to see anything on it. There is a table in front of the statue and a book on it. The hero approaches the table and opens the book. When the book is opened, it brightens the face of the nameless person and immerses him in an illuminated space, where he is shown flashbacks, where we learn the story of the hero. And when the hero’s memory returns (let’s call it the absence of history) he learns that all this time he was and is the god Adonos in the body of a mortal. We also find out why everything happened this way.

Adonos, looking at people from heaven, saw that they had stopped believing in themselves and were turning to the gods for help. And Adonos decides to show people that they themselves are capable of much, and also to prove this to his brothers Innos and Beliar. Adonos encases himself in a mortal body, depriving himself of the memory and power of a god. Of course, leaving the path to go back, choosing a temple where only he could enter (well, of course, you can add more details there).
Having remembered everything, the hero returns back to the temple, where he can clearly see the statue with his image. He immediately goes to the battlefield and begins to mow down everyone there right and left, leading the army he collected to victory (I think it would be cool to make cool gameplay here). Well, after defeating the army, meet face to face with your brothers and give them the last, divine battle. After the victory, Adonos sends his brothers to heaven with the words: “we’ll sort it out at home,” says goodbye to his friends, who are shocked, and flies to heaven. End. (Of course, this is all superficial and without details).

Those who read to the end could understand that this, of course, was the nonsense of a fan of the series, who still has a fart when he remembers the Gothic series. But still, I wanted to post this fantasy. And I would like to know your opinion about what you think about it.

How long have you been with StopGame?.ru?

5. November 2025/0 Comments/in blog-413 /by manfred

I won’t lie, I haven’t been following what’s going on on SG’s YouTube channel for very long.ru, and on the site itself, even more so – since 2011 and 2014, respectively. The team makes me very happy, as do most (I wouldn’t be surprised if all) of their audience. Not long ago I started watching streams on YouTube and I was interested in the question – “why do so few people know the band we love so much?”?"The question periodically comes up (for example) – "Who is Fen?». Usually there are knowledgeable people on YouTube who conduct educational programs on this topic, but sometimes you want to ask a response question – “why did you come to watch the stream if you don’t even know who is hosting it, what kind of channel it is and who this stream is aimed at?”?». But this is far from the worst thing! I noticed people who entered the stream chat, wrote some nonsense there, or, even worse, “messed up” there and left. On the site itself, the administration copes well with this problem, on social. On the VKontakte network, it is impossible to eradicate this problem (completely), but on YouTube they have simply stopped paying attention, to which some viewers who are not “bullies” react with great sadness or even resentment. You might think, “Who cares?! Why can’t they register on SG.ru and stay in our quite adequate (with rare exceptions) company?“Some are simply lazy, others do not want to do this for their own (unknown/incomprehensible) reasons, etc.d.

And so the question is: “How many people are old-timers here and know who Fen, Kulak, Kost and others are, and how many are new here, just getting acquainted with the site and the team?»

Yes, long question, I agree. But he’s just as important.

Who’s old and who’s young? Who is ours and who is a stranger? Only you can decide!

It happened, Far Cry, the first one yet. It was necessary to extinguish the helicopter by running along the deck of the ship. The ammunition ran out and the helicopter died. I had to look for a walkthrough. I came across Stopgame. It turned out I did everything correctly, only the game got bugged. Nevertheless, I registered on the site and subscribed to news about Far Cry. It was 10 years and one week ago. You can say we celebrated our anniversary.

Nostalgic for machinima, which Igromaniya once translated, https://luckymistercasino.uk/bonus/ I came across SG. First I watched machinima online (and wondered why everyone was so happy about every release of the “Freeman’s Mind” series, because I didn’t think to look at their release dates), and then “Results 2009” happened and I was drawn in. I registered just to comment on broadcasts, I don’t remember whether it was for an indie broadcast or a stream on Stalker. But that was in the spring, and in the summer they opened blogs and everything started to spin. I know Fen well enough to be able to call him a blockhead and a dunce C:

OMG! I registered in 2009 (I was looking for cheats like:DDDD)! I was 12 years old :DD. It’s good that I didn’t write comments then, now I would be ashamed)))) Oh, how much time has passed))))

In the old days, old-fatness was determined by the presence of a surname instead of a nickname.
What can you do, the generation is changing, the website is adapting to it, but they don’t even know how to sniff a hairdryer, who the assassin squirrels are and the joyful exclamation “Mom, I’m on TV”.

OK. Although, I haven’t written for a long time and have lost my grip.
Mademoiselle, forgive me for my impudence, but blushing and terribly timid, I ask you one thing. About the forbidden, aesthetic pleasure that a man can experience while observing a beautiful female naked body. Please, I conjure, publish a nude photo of you. There’s no point in hiding such beauty. I am sure that when they see you, the Gods themselves turn away in embarrassment, unable to see such beauty, and the Goddess of Love walks away, disgraced. You are a muse, you are a goddess, a wonderful phenomenon, you are like the morning dawn that came here to disperse the darkness and sadness of the Blogs.
It’s too polite? Or not? I’ll get my photo?)))

Uuuuu… Bearded story. Here since the advent of normal unlimited Internet. It appeared to me somewhere in early 2007. Was on 256 kbit. ) Before this, I rarely used the disgusting modem + telephone line = ptn system only out of necessity. Brr… There the maximum speed was 56.7 kbit. Everything took a long time to load… So. I was a schoolboy in those days and not rich. Rarely bought litsuki, more often pirates. Exchanged with friends… Eh..

The Internet saved me a lot in those poor years. I remember that the first crisis, even being packaged, downloaded for 4 days with my first unlimited. But! In those days, you still had to look for nocds yourself each time, which were often not even included in the distribution. I did a search. I tried to take them first from PG, then from here, etc.To. practice has shown that on the first site quite often there were non-working versions, and here, among other things, the sign that the files were scanned by an antivirus and all that inspired confidence, even though there was a note below that the portal was not responsible. There were also nocds for almost all versions of the game. And in English, and in Russian, and all sorts of them 1.034… By the way, I also pulled patches from here, because I maniacally think it’s right to have the latest version of the game. Well, I looked at the passages when I was dull.

Naturally, the parable is about not registering, t.To. at first there was absolutely no suitable content capable of holding. I looked here out of necessity and began to come across all sorts of igrozors. I was skeptical about them. We walked for quite a long time, and a bunch of incomprehensible collective was broadcasting. Who would have thought that over the years I would fall in love with this company so much?. Still, I didn’t pay attention to the first 20 issues. Stupidly came in, downloaded and left. In those days, I was a supporter of wild minimalism on the Internet. I avoided a large number of accounts and registered only in the most necessary places. What are you talking about?? It took me a while to create a mailbox for myself, and I only registered on VKontakte with the 5th million, although all my classmates with the Internet in those days were almost in the first. Yeah. Back then, this sinister network was still petty..

Returning to SG, out of curiosity I somehow took a look at Igrozor and I liked it so much that I watched all the previous issues, although the information in them was no longer particularly relevant. Basically, I watched it for the dialogue and jokes. Met the team. I read the reviews and realized that I agree with the local echo. SG has completely replaced the fucking gaming magazines about games and TV shows with the same topics, which I periodically got acquainted with back then in order to learn about worthy new products and what to expect in the future. But all this was available on the site anyway. Still didn’t register. What is the advantage? Write grateful comments under the digest? Continued to sit anonymously. Blogs were introduced… Kulakov came down to humanity and said: “These are blogs, here you can communicate and post all sorts of topics.”. It was rotten at the beginning. Really. About 20 at most, mostly for bullshit. Didn’t get the point and left. Next came the cart in streams (Gleb said), they say, there is less advertising for its users, but it was annoying. Plus, sometimes I wanted too much to answer/write something, because I looked at blogs, but I thought that the game was not worth the candle for just one comment.

At that time, I had already acquired a bunch of unnecessary accounts and was completely spoiled, so, without losing anything, I registered, although several years had passed since I had been on the site. Back then there was also a theme that every newfag had to go through initiation, so they often downvoted you so that you could then get out of this minus. Escaped with light blood. Several times someone hit the profile of the unit by 2. I didn’t understand why,.To. was exemplary. Didn’t have any particular conflicts with anyone. Apparently, just like that. And in general, they quickly left me alone when they said that I had been following the site for a long time.

By the way, I didn’t mention that at first I watched all the streams, but at some point there were so many of them that there simply wasn’t enough time, so I switched to Fridays and rare exceptions.
But I remember KiroSlava and Vasya and Vanya, when they arrived, they were some kind of strangers to me. Mourned the departure of the first couple. Well, I don’t like changes to usual ways! Galperov and Loev were some strangers to me. I thought that they would sit here and find another job. But even after a year or so I got used to them and I treat them well. Debut retrozor dragged, t.To. was something really new. Now I can’t imagine SG without them.

What about me? There are 7 percent of people like me here, judging by the questionnaire. I sit here all the time, looking at FAQs and blogs that are dying, but my activity is wave-like. Most often I don’t write anything, but sometimes I explode and flood almost every topic with my comments, but such outbursts are also associated with real life. And I’m also lazy. I have at least 5 blozhiks hanging in suspension and I still can’t finish it.

All in all. A thousand and something comments… I’m not particularly significant here.
Well? Will anyone recognize me?! I knew it..
Either way, I’m here forever.

How I started playing Final Fantasy XIV

2. Oktober 2025/0 Comments/in blog-413 /by manfred

I have never been a fan of the Final Fantasy series of games, although I have always considered myself a fan of everything Japanese. (Yes, yes, I’m an anime fan). And then one day I came across a video from StopGame – “The History of the Final Fantasy Series”. I remember how now, it was a Saturday evening, all the necessary routine had already been completed, I didn’t want to play. Well, I guess we can take a look. And then it started, someone would have thought. But no, I just watched all the released parts of the history of the series and forgot about the ending.

A couple of days passed and the cover of the first ending caught my eye – Final Fantasy I: Pixel Remastered. Who knows, I suddenly liked it, installed it on my bucket and started playing. The first time I played it for about five hours and forgot about it. A month later I took it off my phone.

So, I thought, apparently it’s not my destiny to join this series of games. I took out my 3DS and continued playing my favorite Pokemon. I play and feel gaming impotence, holding my favorite console in my hands. And then it dawned on me! You can download the final game on 3DS! This is what I did, played the fourth part for two days and forgot about it.

Sometimes, of course, I returned to Final Fantasy in my thoughts, but I didn’t even start the game. And so, summer came, I came back from vacation, went to work a couple of times and decided that I needed to play something. First there was Diablo IV (thank Zeus, I got myself a boxing account and paid full price). I wouldn’t say that the game is bad, it has an excellent foundation, it plays nicely, but I also reached level 60 or something. And I forgot about her.

Then there was a bunch of backlog, which I also left halfway through. And so, at the beginning of July, my friend tells me about Black Desert: he begins to describe to me how much better the game has become, what huge changes there are in it (I already played BDO, a very long time ago).

The renewed acquaintance with BDO did not last long, about two days. On the same day that I finished this game, another friend wrote in a general conversation in the cart about Albion Online. I’m thinking, "FUCK, RIGHT!».

I download Albion, log in for three hours, forget about it the next day. I’m sitting, thinking about what to play. I search YouTube, I go to reddit with a feeling of gnawing melancholy. I wanted a straight MMO game that would touch the soul, and that the plot was good, and the PVE was excellent.

And then I remembered! After all, Gamepass includes TESO. I think, cool, I’ll lounge on the couch and play MMOs with a gamepad. I only had enough time to create a character and the first 3 minutes of the game.

Praises.

After all this, I went to Steam to play Pufffinder. And at that time there was a sale on Steam and the first game that was highlighted to me was FFXIV. I think, well, I’ll go and read the reviews. And if not for one of these reviews, then sure as hell I would have decided to try it.

Of course, it was stupid of me to believe that this was a real review, but at that moment I didn’t even doubt it. I figured out what and how it works in this Japanese game of yours, downloaded the trial and got stuck.

How stunned I was by the main musical theme cannot be expressed in words. I had heard it before, but for some reason it gave me goosebumps at that very moment. This is where my reluctant introduction to Final Fantasy XIV began.

Anyway, let’s move on to the game itself.

As befits a true, unprincipled https://playhub-casino.uk/login/ and authentic lover of role-playing games since childhood, I created an ordinary person, chose the spearman class for myself and rushed into the world of final fantasy.

Imagine my sincere surprise when I heard (or rather, did not hear) the lack of voice acting. And this game is praised for its plot, I think. After all, this is not some kind of cRPG, with tons of text that is interesting and easy to read. Here you still need to know English, and it’s not easy. Starlings have transferred their accents and different dialects, which definitely affects the readability of the text and its understanding for Russian-speaking people. Fortunately, I generally speak English, and I translate incomprehensible moments with the help of Tataru Helper. An excellent utility that, using neural networks, translates the plot of this ending.

And so the game began. The combat is generally the same as in WoW. You click on the enemy, target him and just press the buttons, sometimes moving away from AoE attacks. Nothing seemingly dynamic, but this is only up to level 30. It still takes a long time to swing! -, you’ll think.

But no, the quality is actually very fast. As I later read, the developers cut out a good part of the fillers of the main plot (in the game community they call him ARR – in honor of the updated version of the unsuccessful launch of the original FFXIV, which at the moment is this great game) and accelerated character development. Very quickly you reach level 30, and some kind of dynamics already begins.

But first, let’s quickly go over the class system in FFXIV. It turns out that at the beginning we have a choice of several classes, without normal explanations: tanks, healers or damage dealers. After this, at level 30, each starting class is transformed into a profession, which represents the final appearance of the class. There are a total of 90 levels in the game, during which you will gain skills and update existing ones.

So, at level 30 I had the opportunity to become a Dragoon. These are these dudes in the finale universe who are somehow connected with the souls of dragons and fight with the help of various spears and all sorts of jumps with and without fire. The history of the profession immediately began to gain momentum. From the starting location of Gridania, which is surrounded by forests, I was sent to Coerthas, a mountainous area whose capital is the dragon-fighting city of Ishgard.

I haven’t gotten to Ishgard itself yet, but I got a great buzz from Coerthas. Mountain peaks, everything covered in snow and wyvern enemies. All this seemed to reignite my interest in the game and I continued to play with great pleasure.

The gameplay itself has also become faster. Finally, I got my Chocobo (mount), joined the alliance and the guild. One is connected purely with NPCs, and the other, as in all MMOs, is an ordinary guild.

The combat began to feel much more pleasant. Now I didn’t just sit and poke another button. I now have additional skills that need to be pressed during the main attacks, after which, without wasting time, I need to press the main attacks and combine them. There really are combinations that can be performed by pressing in a certain attack order. These combinations are conceived by the game itself, are indicated in the description and the necessary attacks are highlighted in advance if you start the combination in the required order.

My magnificent Dragoon. In fact, this is a basic set that is obtained for completing a chain of quests according to the plot of the profession, but how do I enjoy it?.

Story

At this point, I haven’t even finished ARR yet. And this is just the story before the first expansion. At the beginning it was difficult, unclear, a lot of exposition. But being at level 37 of history quests, I begin to understand that this was not all a useless pouring from empty to empty. Of course, at the beginning there are fillers, and there are quite a few of them. But, if you let the story unfold (and I’m already used to giving Japanese games more time than they deserve), then it becomes very interesting to follow the twists and turns that happen in the world.

I feel just as cool playing as Dragoon

Our hero is an adventurer who arrived in Eorzia to… as I understand it, just to help people, damn… Amazing motivation, of course, but nothing, he’s just a naive fool. And so, helping various personalities, the hero and I plunge headlong into this world, explore it and meet amazing characters.

After this, we learn that the animal tribes that live in this world are trying to summon Primals – dangerous creatures that, having gained sufficient strength, can be insanely dangerous. We also find out that our hero is special (who would have thought), he is able to see people’s memories and the goddess herself communicates with him. So, we are found by a group of people whose goal is to stop the animal tribes and prevent the Primals from taking over (or destroying) the world.

But that’s not all. Five years ago there was a war from which no one has yet recovered. It was all because of the Garlean Empire, which is trying to take over the world.

And so, in this tangle of plot twists, we have to deal with the hero. As I said earlier, at the beginning the plot accelerates for a very long time, even cutting out a good part of the fillers, the Birdhouses could not get rid of useless missions. The main thing is to run through them quickly and not focus on them.

The plot itself is decent so far and keeps you on your toes. I can’t say it’s great or unique or anything like that, but out of all the MMOs I’ve played, it has the best story. (Especially when compared with the latest WoW efforts, although Dragonflight seems to be praised, but I don’t follow it anymore)

What am I doing at the moment

Now I’m at level 37 of the plot and, as it seems to me, the most interesting things are just beginning. I leveled up my dragoon to level 52 and decided to start leveling up the ninja (Yo, dogs, I’m Naruto Uzumaki). On a ninja, the gameplay is much more dynamic, you have to, like in Naruto, add seals and use a variety of jutsu. For now, playing ninja is more fun, but I’m so attached to Dragoon.

By the way, in order to change the class, you do not need to create a new character. Apparently that’s why it’s called a profession. The only thing is that the initial professions need to be upgraded from scratch, but those that were added with the addition start at different levels from 50 to 80. (This is as far as I understood until I got to this point).

And so, at dragoon level 52, I sometimes run to the dungeons, sometimes I just start hanging out with my clanmates (and the community here is just awesome) and just exploring the world of Eorzea.

I hope that with my mini-long impression I can encourage someone to try this game, considering that the trial is completely free and does not greatly limit the comfortable familiarization with the game.

P. S. This is my first long, so I’m happy to receive feedback. In general, if at least someone likes it, I plan to keep a player’s diary like this in FFXIV, telling all sorts of different things that happen in the game, etc. d. And if someone in general starts to notice my graphomania, I’ll start writing long stories for other projects. I will be glad to all the advice you give. (Even if you write, I advise you not to write longer ^_^)

How I spent February 23

29. September 2025/0 Comments/in blog-413 /by manfred

Hello to all those who came to read this blog
As the title suggests, now I will describe to you the events of February 23 (stock up on Dumplings and Cola)
Let’s get started!
It was the evening of February 22, my friends and I were playing a board game. Since my friend’s birthday is the 23rd, we congratulated him at midnight) The next morning (23rd) I woke up from my home phone ringing. My grandmother called, congratulating me, she asked me to come see her (under the pretext that she had a gift for me). A little later, my mobile phone rang, friends called and begged me to go with them to the ski hill, ride. Having gone to my grandmother, taking my passport and a gift from her, I met with friends and went skiing. Having rented skis, we brought them to a friend’s house, sat with him and chatted. at 17:30 we went to the embankment to visit the cafe, after spending probably 2 hours in the cafe, we went outside. After drinking 1 bottle of wine and 2 bottles of champagne, each of us made a toast to Dimon (my friend who actually had his birthday). When we started to go home to get equipment and clothes, when I arrived at my home I discovered a small surprise. About 8 bags of tea and… GUITAR. But it’s not that important. What matters is how we started skating))

(Skip the long and boring trip there)

Arriving at the place, https://newvegascasino.uk/withdrawal/ we saw the following picture
Dark. Can’t see anything. A huge ski slope into the abyss that merges with the darkness of the street.
After changing clothes, we all decided to go down from this mountain. On the count of 3 – 4 – 5, according to the plan, we ALL had to start beautifully and complete this descent at the bottom. This is how it really was. . 4 – 5 we start. Let’s get started Me and my friend Melky. You know, this descent reminded me of one good game, and especially one of the exciting ones

this game. This is exactly what I had to go through. The small one managed to turn, and I, screaming LIIIROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, began to noticeably pick up speed, when I realized that the speed was enormous, it was already too late. Trying to slow down, I fell on my back, the hat that was on my head instantly flew into my eyes and within 5 – 6 seconds I felt severe pain throughout my body. (And especially in the head area) After another 2 seconds, when I realized that my body had finally stopped, I took off my hat, and out of habit, because the hat itched my forehead, I decided to wipe it) In vain. Looking at my hand and seeing that it was covered in blood, I called my friend Melky for help. Soon he drove up and almost shit his pants. He saw me fly, he saw me fall, he saw me stuck in the safety net. A minute later the rest of my friends arrived). Since it was night and the lift wasn’t working, I had to climb up a shitload of meters myself with my gear so that they could wipe me with wet wipes and cover me with a band-aid. After providing first aid, I rode a couple more times, but it was safer.

In the morning I took a couple of photos of how I got rid of this slide.

The ass that I was slowing down with was also scratched, but I won’t send a photo of it!))

How I went to the Digital History festival in St. Petersburg

18. September 2025/0 Comments/in blog-413 /by manfred

On October 20, I attended the first popular science festival “Digital History” in St. Petersburg, organized by Egor Yakovlev. I’m sure there are people here familiar with his activities on Dmitry “Goblin” Puchkov’s channel. Such an event has been asking for a long time, especially if you look at how many specialists were attracted to the channel of the same name.

The forum was held in the same premises of the St. Petersburg hotel as the scientific and educational forum “Scientists against Myths 6,” which I also had the pleasure of visiting. So comparisons will be inevitable. And, indeed, they have quite a lot in common, but no less their own characteristic features.

October 20, St. Petersburg, concert hall of the St. Petersburg Hotel
What we don’t know about the Great Victory of 1945?
What role did former tsarist officers play in the Civil War??
Why the Baltic fleet was able to defeat the British squadron in the Baltic in 1919?
What operations did Nazi intelligence conduct in the Baltic states in the pre-war years??
Where and in what way was the Soviet SMERSH able to outplay the Nazi Abwehr?
What were the “Russian plans” of the Finnish intelligence services?

The organizers and speakers promised to answer these and many questions. After all “For the first time in St. Petersburg, the vanguard of researchers of the military-political history of the 20th century will speak to a wide audience.”.

09.30 – 10.00 Registration of participants

10.00 – 11.00 Speech by Kirill Nazarenko. 1919: Red Fleet against British invaders in the Baltic.
Kirill Borisovich Nazarenko – Doctor of Historical Sciences, Deputy Director of the Institute of History of St. Petersburg State University, expert on the history of the Russian fleet.

11.00 – 12.00 Speech by Alexander Dyukov. Baltic collaborationism in World War II: a new look.
Alexander Reshideovich Dyukov – director of the Historical Memory Foundation, author of one of the most poignant books about the Nazi genocide, “What the Soviet People Fought for”.

12.00 – 13.00 Speech by Andrey Ganin. Russian officers in the fire of the Civil War.
Andrey Vladislavovich Ganin – Doctor of Historical Sciences, leading researcher at the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, author of fundamental works on the history of the Civil War.

13.00-15.00 Lunch break

During this time, there will be an autograph session with speakers, a visit to a military history exhibition and a book fair. Presentations of historical literature.

15.00 – 16.00 Intelligence Interrogation. Egor Yakovlev – Alexey Isaev. 1945: Unknown victory

Alexey Vaflerevich Isaev – candidate of historical sciences, the most fruitful Russian scientist specializing in the study of the Second World War.

16.00 — 17.00 Intelligence Interrogation. Bair Irincheev – Sergey Verigin. Finnish intelligence services against the USSR in the 1920s-1930s.

Sergey Gennadievich Verigin – Doctor of Historical Sciences, Director of the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences of PetrSU, specialist in the history of Finland.

17.00 — 18.00 Intelligence Interrogation. Dmitry Puchkov – Alexander Zdanovich. Smersh: myths and facts.

Alexander Aleksandrovich Zdanovich – Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor at Moscow State Pedagogical University, leader in modern research on the history of Soviet intelligence services, Lieutenant General of the FSB.

18.00-19.00 Autograph session with https://richprizecasino.uk/games/ speakers, end of the festival.

As you can see, the event is divided into two equal parts: classic reports and speeches, and after the break, reports, but in the format of an “intelligence interview” – interviews in real time.

On Saturday morning, getting to the other end of the city is quite a challenge. Not surprisingly, having arrived 15 minutes before the start, there were very few people and they surrounded the book stalls and reenactors in small groups. There were even more of them near the first ones.

These are the officers who greeted visitors at the entrance

But then a voice announced the beginning of the festival and we began to take our places. About 600 tickets were sold, with a hall capacity of 800. Nevertheless, approximately a quarter, or even a third of the seats were empty. Not only everyone found the strength to get up so early. And indeed, by the second half of the festival the number of people noticeably increased, but that’s not about that now.

Of course, not everyone has gathered yet.
The presenters were Yegor Yakovlev himself and, widely known in narrow circles, tour guide Pavel Perets. His videos can be easily found on the same Dead End. After the opening speech, Egor invited Kirill Borisovich Nazarenko to give his first report.

But instead of the speaker, the resurrected sailor Zheleznyak took the stage, interrupted the performance of the bourgeois entertainers and took them backstage under a Mauser to be reforged.
Nazarenko’s report partially overlapped with a number of his lectures posted on Digital History. Even the slides were familiar to many. But specifically covering the issue of the confrontation of the Soviet fleet with the British is beyond thematic monographs "The Baltic Fleet in the Revolution of 1917-1918." And "Fleet, revolution and power in Russia. 1917-1921".

However, neophytes learned from this speech why they should not blindly trust memoirs; about the social stratification between sailors and officers and the reasons for the spontaneous reprisals of the former against the latter; how the first red fleet was formed; who managed to defeat the British fleet (the strongest in the world) during its raid on Petrograd and what conspiracies formed around him and why Admiral Shchastny was shot.

After several questions from the audience, Nazarenko left the stage, and the sailor Zheleznyak returned the presenters, who had already been re-educated in a revolutionary spirit.
The next speaker was also a well-known historian, primarily for the book “What the Soviet People Fought for,” Alexander Dyukov. The main object of his research is the phenomenon of Baltic and Ukrainian collaboration during the Second World War.

And he does this so successfully that in 2004 Latvia banned him from entering for a period of 20 years. On this day, he highlighted the problem of cooperation with the Nazis in general terms. Behind such a large scale of collaboration there was one determining factor – the foundation and breeding ground left by local dictatorial regimes before the Baltic states joined the USSR in 1940. By the beginning of the war, there was an extensive nationalist underground in the Baltic states that maintained contacts with the Nazis.

Well, Andrei Ganin’s third speech was dedicated to the fate of the officers of the Russian Imperial Army.

Using the example of three officers who started at the same school, it is clearly shown how their fates moved across Russia from one camp to another. It is important to understand that during the revolution and civil war many did not have a direct path for the Reds or for the Whites from beginning to end, as Nazarenko said in his report. Many simply ran to the winner. When the scales tipped towards the Whites, many officers chose to serve Denikin and Kolchak, and when it became clear that the Reds were winning, their ranks were replenished with yesterday’s White Guards.

But of course there were a lot of ideological people in the service of the Bolsheviks: Sveshnikov, Brusilov, Bonch-Bruevich, Manikovsky, Vasilevsky, Shaposhnikov and many others. Likewise, on the white side, many were ready to die and died for their ideals.

But I was really surprised by the answer to the question about comparing the scale of the Red and White terrors. The speaker spoke in the sense that if the Bolshevik propaganda was all-encompassing, then the terror was just as large-scale. I will think about using this innovative technique in my dissertation. Such generalizations discouraged me from buying the author’s books: "Daily life of the General Staff under Lenin and Trotsky", I’m a big fan of paper books. Moreover, such generalizations sound strange against the background of two detailed monographs by Ilya Ratkovsky with a simple title "Chronicle of White Terror"" And "Chronicle of the Red Terror". And they, with the facts on the pages, are ready to argue with this bold statement.

This morning I noticed three small stands. While I was out for lunch, we completed the preparation of the fourth with samples of printed propaganda from the times of the Soviet-Finnish War of 1939-1940, and from the times of the Great Patriotic War. The lecturer was the irreplaceable Bair Irincheev.

But, alas for me, I missed everything while I was listening to the advantage of foot wraps over socks (they fill the entire space between the boot and the leg, so that water does not flow inside), and why they abandoned the wide-brimmed helmets of 1936 (the danger of getting hit on the head with a saber disappeared, but a blast wave could tear out the head along with the spine).

I didn’t notice at all how people started arriving. Everyone was fussing around the press wall, where they could take pictures with the speakers and get their autographs. Then the press became more active. Although there were a couple of cameramen and photographers scurrying around the hall, no major publications were seen. True, I noticed a microphone with a familiar channel, but nothing more.

All those involved were interviewed, and the reenactors once again showed their deep knowledge of the intricacies of military affairs of the Peter the Great and Soviet eras, as well as the art of cursive writing of the 18th century.

An example of early 18th century cursive writing.

I’m not a big fan of all kinds of rivets, so I was pleased to hear about the equipment and features of combat operations in the era of Peter the Great and the Great Patriotic War. Many soldiers‘ household items and uniform items could be touched and partially tried on. Of course, all weapons from a saber and a smoothbore shotgun to a DPM machine gun could be picked up and photographed in the image of a formidable warrior.

Of course, this attracted children and teenagers to a greater extent, but there were also adults who right there began to torment the reenactors about the possibility of joining their orderly ranks. And the “private” only had time to answer: “Contact the commander. There he stands".

Perhaps two hours was too much for such an exhibition, but the abundance of free time literally provoked me to go buy a few more books. Especially with a discount. As a big fan of printed books, I couldn’t help myself. A stern voice saved me from further expenses, reminding me that it was time to take my seats, and there were 5 minutes left before the start of the performances.

And here we can especially praise the organizers, but not of “Digital History”, but of “Scientists against Myths”. They always emphasized that they strictly adhere to regulations. I didn’t pay any attention to it at all until the upcoming performance moved forward half an hour. There were 5 extra minutes for the report, here they answered the questions a little longer and here is the result. Although it cannot be said that this bothered anyone. At such moments you realize that organizing and holding such events is not an easy matter.

Before the start of the second part, Yegor Yakovlem invited a reenactor from sunny Brazil to the stage (but this is not certain) and, promising to ask him questions about the history of Russia, began to make opportunistic jokes about Putin and Mamaev-Kokorishche.

Here we see possible answers to the question “Who killed Kennedy?»

In the first “Intelligence Interrogation”, Yegor Yakovlev talked with Alexei Isaev about the victorious year 1945 and the “Battle for Germany” – this is the name of the 16th episode of the excellent documentary series “The Great War”, where all the theses voiced on stage received an excellent screen embodiment. As soon as I heard the words “Storm” and “Poznan”, a barrel of explosives appeared in my imagination, which was rolled up to the pillboxes and exploded, stunning all the defenders. This is what we were talking about.

But in addition to the historical fact, one important thing was recorded: the quality of the rank and file and officers of the Soviet Army at all levels was such that the Wehrmacht troops, bristling with machine guns and hiding behind concrete walls, who promised to drown the offensive in blood and hold the line for weeks and months in the hope of reducing the war to a draw, were taken on with minimal losses in a few days, and sometimes even during normal reconnaissance in force. Although, it would seem, the Red Army was given a non-trivial task of storming a fortified city and, thanks to initiative and experience, it was solved in the shortest possible time.

The topic of the Soviet-Finnish war was never very popular, and during the Second World War it and the entire northern front were eclipsed by the fight against the Nazis. Bair Irincheev talked about the features of sabotage counter-intelligence activities with Professor of Petrozavodsk State University Sergei Verigin. And despite the fact that the topic stated the 1920-1930s, we were talking about the war period.

Guerrilla and sabotage warfare in the Finnish rear in the occupied territories was complicated by the lack of a loyal population. A lot of people left after the retreating Red Army at the beginning of the war, and those who remained were driven to Finnish concentration camps (after the turning point in the war in 1943 they were no longer called concentration camps) or fell victims to ethnic cleansing of the Russian population. In addition, 30% of Red Army prisoners of war died in Finnish captivity, which is 26% less than in German. About 15-20% of Finns died in our captivity. After the war, this was not particularly remembered in the name of good neighborly relations with Finland. How he joked later Väinö Linna in the novel "Unknown soldier": “The huge, mighty Soviet Union won this competition, and brave little Finland took an honorable second place.”. The book, by the way, is very good. It’s so Finnish "All Quiet on the Western Front"».

Alexander Zdanovich to the left of Nazarenko.
The festival ended with a conversation between Dmitry Puchkov and Alexander Zdanovich, Doctor of Historical Sciences and retired FSB Lieutenant General. The theme of SMERSH somehow logically stemmed from the intelligence struggle on the Finnish front. We were talking about myths associated with this service. In addition to all these enchanting stories about detachments, mass executions and the desire to send everyone they meet to the Gulag, reproduced in every first domestic film, refuted by the simple fact and the huge number of SMERSH members killed on the battlefield and their role in battle. We are talking about over 10,000 dead. Much more interesting is the wide range of responsibilities faced by officers, from counterintelligence to supplying troops and combating epidemics in the troops.
At the end of the conversation, Dmitry Puchkov asked:
— Is it true that you were the only one who saw Solzhenitsyn’s criminal case??
– I saw not only the case, but also him himself. The only thing he told me was “They put me in prison correctly, don’t show my case to anyone,” answered Alexander Alexandrovich and the hall exploded with applause.

This is the second time during the lecture, and the first accompanied the words about publishing a book about SMERSH at our own expense. Edition of only 300 copies. By today’s standards, 1000 circulation is already a success. Almost all of the books mentioned were published this way. In fact, this is how most scientific literature is published today. Sometimes there are less than 1000 copies.

So far, some modesty of the event is striking compared to “Scientists…”, no participant badge at the entrance, no counter with merchandise, not even a colorful booklet. Instead of the latter, a simple A4 sheet with a program on one side and a Yandex card on the other. This is understandable, since this is the first forum, there is no local culture yet. Let’s see what happens next. The next meeting has already been announced and will be held in Moscow on December 1.

So for science, such events perform an invaluable service, showing that real, highly professional researchers exist and they are busy with interesting things, things that are useful and understandable to the average person.

How I Stopped Drawing in Paint and Loved the Halo Series

18. September 2025/0 Comments/in blog-413 /by manfred

This blog is mainly for those who, like me, love the Halo universe and, perhaps, like me, only played the first two parts, and were incredibly happy about the announcement of the Master Chief Collection and Reach on PC. But, this blog is also for those who missed the wonderful Combat Evolved at one time and have no idea why many, many people love this series of games so much.

PS
At first I wanted to write about the universe as a whole and about the two games that were released on PC, but my thoughts got so carried away that this blog will only be about Halo Combat Evolved.

Let’s get nostalgic and understand the reasons for nostalgia. Let’s go!

A long time ago, when I was very young and not drunk, I played Delta Force: Black hawk down and was incredibly happy. Until one terrible day, my mother turned off the computer from the network because she could not close the game and the game did not break.

Since I was small, there was no way to fix the game.

So a month passed. I didn’t play anything, at most I drew in paint or played pinball.

But one fine day, a dude came to my mom for tutoring, and she, apparently imbued with my low mood, asked this dude to look for games on our PC. Like, what if we didn’t see something?. And he found. Dude found Halo Combat Evolved. From that day my love for the Halo series began.
More precisely, even this: love began from the moment I saw the treasured application icon, which (I realized much later) depicted the Master Chief – John 117. Hero of my life.

And then, when the game started, she managed to make me fall in love with her even more. And, although the child’s brain was not yet burdened with knowledge of music, I was fascinated. This. Music.

My pirated copy of the game (it was 2004, Kyrgyzstan, I was 7 so don’t judge me) was entirely in English. Knowledge of the English language was then enough to navigate the game menu. There was no talk of understanding the plot at all, but nevertheless I barely understood it. That’s because Halo has amazing cutscenes. A seven-year-old child, barely completing the game on easy difficulty, understood the plot… Or maybe the plot was simple?- those who haven’t played the game will ask… Well, how can I tell you? No.

Briefly about the plot.

Distant future, planet Earth, after many wars and other misadventures, unites under a single flag and sets off to conquer the universe using newly invented hyper-drives. But earthlings quickly discovered that we are not alone in the universe. A huge religious war machine called the Covenant attacked the colonies of the Earth, quickly turned the surfaces of the colonized planets into glass with powerful airstrikes and set off to look for the last refuge of people – Mother Earth.

After the fall of one of the main colonies, our journey in Halo Combat Evolved begins, we play as John-117 aka Master Chief, a super soldier from Project Spartans, a genetically modified young man who wakes up aboard the huge human cruiser Pillar of Autumn and is tasked with rescuing the artificial intelligence Cortana, who holds all the military secrets of earthlings. Master Chief and Cortana escape from the ship and find themselves in the coolest location in the history of video games (IMHO, of course) Ring World, the same Halo!

My favorite couple. https://misterxcasino.uk/login/

Cortana is a rather talkative girl, but Master Chief, on the contrary, is not particularly talkative, he speaks dryly, matter-of-factly, but has that elusive charisma of a tough soldier. These characters have instant chemistry. Master Chief becomes a kind of nanny, as Cortana reminds him of in his first serious skirmish with enemies.

Cortana will be your companion for almost the entire game, she will tell you what to do, just chat with the main character right in his head, share her impressions of the situation, joke and even flirt. Cortana is most similar to Scarlett Johansson’s character from the movie “Her.”. The Chief becomes attached to her as the game progresses, and the player also becomes attached to her.

Strange fact
When I played the Dead Money add-on for Fallout New Vegas, Christine’s voice seemed painfully familiar to me, and it turned out that Cortana and Christine were voiced by the same voice actress, but now, when I’m writing this article, the Internet persistently gives me a completely different result… Write if I’m wrong and just got something mixed up, and these characters always had different voice actresses.
End of strange fact

I consider the further story about the plot of Combat Evolved a big spoiler, and the story about the universe as a whole is a criminal spoiler. So I’ll just say this: no other space opera (if Halo can be called that) has hooked me plot-wise as much as the Halo universe.

Oh yeah, towards the end of the game Combat Evolved takes a sharp turn into… Survival Horror! A third party to the conflict appears in the plot, the so-called Flood. And I must admit, the design of these creatures, the sound and music of the levels in which they appear, is still, 15 years later, creepy… But! There are only two such “creepy” levels, then everything becomes not scary, so all non-horror fans can calmly run through these levels on easy difficulty and continue to play and not be afraid of anything!

Gameplay
By the way, about clashes with enemies and other gameplay delights. Gameplay Combat Evolved is a linear shooter with spacious locations. There are a lot of types of enemies, and they all look damn cool. There are also a lot of weapons, they are divided into two large classes: earthling weapons and Covenant weapons. You really can only carry two weapons and a couple of types of grenades with you.

Shooting in Halo is an art form in its own right, we’ve heard Bungie praised for shooting in Destiny? Or maybe you played it yourself and understand what I mean?? So, shooting in Combat Evolved, a game from 2003, still feels better than in many modern shooters! And I’m not the only one who thinks so.

The game also has vehicles; especially large locations can be passed on horseback in a tank, jeep, or even a light fighter. The equipment in the game is also divided into the above-mentioned classes.
Master Chief himself is a tough guy, he wears a Mjolnir suit, which is equipped with energy shields that are restored, just like health in the early series of Call Of Duty, however, there is one thing, but if the shield is still knocked down and you do not have time to restore it, then the damage will begin to take away your health, and in order to restore it you will have to pick up first aid kits.

Fun fact
I completed the first mission in Combat Evolved for a long couple of weeks, logging into the game every day and trying to figure out where the hell I should go. The brain of seven-year-old me could not figure out the intricacies of the corridors of the Pillar of Autumn. I passed the level completely by accident, I just came across the right door in a dark corridor. Then the passage went like clockwork… Until the mission “343 Guilty Spark”.
End of fun fact

As a result, I can make a small comparison. Most of all, the gameplay of Combat Evolved reminds me of the first part of F.E.A.R. All because of the artificial intelligence of enemies and tactical capabilities. YouTuber Rabbit Respawn has a great video about the game F.E.A.R, he goes through the same room with enemies several times and gets a completely different shootout scenario each time.

Well, it’s exactly the same in Halo Combat Evolved. Enemies behave very animatedly on above-average difficulty levels – especially. You never know what will happen in the next second during a major firefight, and rolling back to the last checkpoint has never been so interesting.

I have no idea what to call this item, but let it be “Visual”

Visually, the 2003 game still looks amazing, without any mods. But what I like most are the details.

For me personally, there is nothing more disappointing when in some shooter or slasher, after a fierce battle, I look around the battlefield and see how defeated enemies begin to disappear, walls blackened by explosions and riddled with bullets begin to self-heal, and the chaos left by ME after the battle disappears, as does the satisfaction from the past battle. Combat Evolved doesn’t have this! They shot at the enemy’s corpse for half an hour, like in the movie Starship Troopers? Get walls splattered with blood that will remain so until you leave the level! We decided to paint an obscene word on the wall with gunshots? Make sure you have enough cartridges, because now you have such an opportunity!

In general, the battlefield during a firefight, due to the fallen enemies scattering from the explosions and the living running back and forth and talking to each other, looks amazing. There are sparks bouncing off the walls everywhere, projectiles from energy weapons, beauty! And at the end of the firefight, among the smoking remains, scorched walls and weapons scattered here and there, you will stand, stand and contemplate this splendor as long as your heart desires.

The design of enemies, weapons, allies is simple and clear, and that’s its beauty. Small and grumbling foot soldiers, tall and stately elite warriors, large and armored slugs with fuel cannons, I know, understand and respect each of these enemies. Because of the way the enemies look and behave, you don’t view them as annoying assholes, you actually start to perceive them as an equal threat to you (and on high and legendary difficulty, as a lethal threat to the hero).

But everything I wrote about above would not work without one important detail – location.
The game has 10 levels, and although the locations begin to repeat from the middle of the game, this is due to the plot. And I bet that when you return to locations you’ve already completed, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Each of the seemingly already seen places changes and is supplemented with previously inaccessible places.

Reassuring fact
If you played Metal Gear Solid V and thought that the creators of Halo did the same thing as the creators of MGS V (forced the player to stupidly go through the same missions and complicate the conditions), then you can rest assured, it’s not like that. Yes, we are returning to previously visited locations, but firstly, we are actually returning, that is, we are going from where we came, and secondly, conditions, circumstances and events, everything changes, everything goes according to the plot, no stupid backtracking. In general, rest assured, I won’t spoil it)
The end of the reassuring fact

The dynamics of changing locations is ideal, before you have time to get tired of one, it gives way to the next, and then another! Here’s an example, in the first location we are in the narrow corridors of a spaceship, in the next we find ourselves on the surface of the world of the ring, namely, we are jumping over green hills in a cool Vartog jeep with a couple of surviving allies, BOOM! In the next mission, we go to an enemy cruiser under the cover of darkness to obtain important information! And all this is logically connected, and all the holes in the plot of the game can be closed by reading a book (yes, there are books in the Halo universe!)

About the most important thing – music

At the very beginning I already mentioned that the music in the game fascinated me. Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori wrote the greatest soundtrack in video game history. Combat Evolved even won an award for the soundtrack in some shaggy year. And if you liked the main theme, then listen to this:. This is my favorite composition. Probably everyone has such music, they don’t just like it, it occupies a special place in the heart or soul, or God knows where else, a special place, inviolable, unshakable… In general, listen, and for now I will complete my story, full of subjectivity.

Result: went to replay

And in the end we have a story-driven, linear, more or less tactical shooter, with stealth elements, in spacious locations using technology, amazing music, a huge universe and numerous and loyal fans around the world.

There is also a series of short anime Halo Legends, the director of each episode is different, therefore the art and theme of the series are also different, if you have played but not seen these cartoons, be sure to watch. But for those who are not familiar with the series of games, the anime will clarify some points, especially if you start watching from the Origins series.

This text, as I already said, is full of subjectivity, love for this wonderful series of games and the universe as a whole. And hope. Yes… I think he is full of hope that you, dear comrades who have read up to this point, are inspired and will at least try to get acquainted with the Halo universe. And with the last notes of the soundtrack I finish this blog. Thanks to everyone who read.

How I got introduced to games.

17. September 2025/0 Comments/in blog-413 /by manfred

By the age of 4, I clearly remember that I was playing on the Sega Mega Drive 2 (I live in Nakhodka, we didn’t have a smell near Vladivostok and Genesis) in the cult games Rock’n’roll racing, road rash 1-3, Streets of Rage 1-2, Zero Tolerance, Sonic the Hedgehog, Desert Strike, Duna 2, Sunset Riders, Mortal Kombat, etc.d. about which I will now express my opinion.I remember even at the age of 12, having saved up 600 rubles each with a friend, we bought 2 SEGA consoles and cartridges in addition and again stuck in front of the TV, it’s a pity they burned out.

These were the most hurricane-like motorcycle races that ever existed. For this I competed with neighbors, friends, my brother, and then I already dreamed of a hub that would unite several consoles. It’s not a sin to remember the pursuit of helicopters and jumping on their rotors, the savory endings of losses and victories, and, of course, a slap on the head from your brother if you lost.

I only remember the Blizzard campaign because of them. The coolest isometric races, they gave me more pleasure compared to Twisted Metal and Full auto.I make a face like Snake and I will never forget the announcer’s talk

For me this was the first shooter and I still consider it better than its direct competitor in the form of Wolfinstein 3D.It was beautiful (for that time), you could jump, squat, etc.d.He scared me and I didn’t go further than 4 elevators, I was afraid of bugs, I watched my brother go by

2D Action that I remember with gritting of teeth, memorizing enemies and bosses, cursing my brother, etc.d.

I did not describe all https://tropicanzacasino.uk/bonus/ the games, but there were no games that looked like slag or trash, they were all of extremely high quality and were enough for many evenings, there was also a book of 1000 games on Sega, codes, walkthroughs.I also mentioned Dendy, but it was mainly with my brother and friends.

Then I remember how my father, arriving from long flights, brought laptops, on which my brother installed CS and received a slap in the back of the head for it.There was also a Japanese version of the Playstation with its black disks[NTSJ] and some pink controller with motion capture (which no one mastered).

But there were very few games on it and everything was in pure Japanese.Biohazard (Resident Evil), Gran Turismo, Kickboxing KO-2 (something like that), Cheto with Russian terrorists and a train and something else.I also played with a friend on a normal PS one in Carmaggedon, Rainbow Six and Spec ops.

For me, this is the scariest horror game I’ve played, I recently tried to get through it, and the atmosphere at home was just as scary as before.I used to hide under the blanket while my father played it

There is also a lot to be said about the other games.I never saved in Biohazard and played in 1 sitting for literally 8 hours.I remember a friend had a monochrome display, while playing Raimbow six we chose roles if we played in 3, in Carmageddon we divided the money and wrote it down on a piece of paper, but his disk was stuck and we only played levels 1 to 5, and Spec Ops almost got through, getting stuck like on chapter 4 or 5 where there were nuclear warheads and realized too late how to get through.

Then my father brought a Sega Dreamcast… With a lot of games, of course (it’s a pity there was no Shemnue). There were quacks and Unreal Tornament, but still, most of all I remember Resident evil 3, Legacy of Kain Soul reaver and of course Crazy Taxi Driver. We also played a lot through it in the Snes emulator, it seems, and there I completed Wolfinstein 3D.

I, as it is logical to assume, was stuck in Quake 2,3 and UT.While my brother and friend enthusiastically passed the soul absorber, although I also liked the game. Also, a friend also had a Dreamcast with a library of games and the first game in the Stealth genre was Head Hunter in my life.It still works for him, but the drive needs to be repaired, it won’t spin the disks.

They also gave us a PS2 where my brother played Grandia, and my friends and I played Tekken 5 and Soul Calibur 3.

And so I approached my 1 PC, it appeared on me approximately after the release of Gta San Andreas. It worked on socket 433 with a 4 by 1 stump.4 GHz with rare 512 MB RIMM RAM and GeForce 5400.The first games were Return To Castle Wolfinstein, GTA san andreas, Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and a couple of games that I don’t remember.I remember RTCW the most and I replayed it several times.

And so this year I got a PS3 with Last of Us and GT6.It would be nice to read your introductions to the world of games. And happy belated new year

How I got involved with Dragon Age only in 2017

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to fully get acquainted with BioWare’s creations right away. My first project from the Canadians was Mass Effect: but needless to say, I unsuccessfully tried to start it three times and each time I gave up after six to seven hours?

To be fair, it’s worth noting that as a teenager I didn’t really care for RPGs (if I even knew what they were), so the original Mass Effect at that time seemed like a clever mixture of shooter and strategy to me. Most likely, this is why the project did not captivate me – it was too difficult to perceive the extremely branchy plot at that age.

That’s why I came to the Dragon Age series only now. I thought that the genre of just such role-playing games was above the ceiling for me, and the maximum that I could handle was the last two parts of The Witcher or TES V: Skyrim. Well, I was wrong – and the Dragon Age series unexpectedly became one of my favorites.

Gray Wardens and the Fifth Blight

I got acquainted with the first part at the time of its release. In 2009, my father became nostalgic for Baldur’s Gate, and he decided to buy a new release from the same developers – so one fine evening he came home with a brand new disc. By the way, licensed – for me in 2009, the sight of a licensed disc caused genuine amazement.

However, I didn’t manage to try out Dragon Age: Origins myself back then, and I don’t really remember how my father played it. A couple of days ago I asked him a question: did he pass it in the end or not?? The answer was funny: they say, the game is cool and generally of high quality, but I couldn’t master it because the locations were too large. So much for old school gaming.

Remembering this, I found that same disk and was surprised to find that the license code can still be activated in Origin.

_______________________________________________________________________________________
The same disk. Imagine my surprise in 2009 when I saw the minimum free space requirement – 20 gigabytes!
______________________________________________________________________________________________

The first part was difficult. And it’s not the difficulty itself, but the perception – I’ve never fallen into such “old school” before. Despite my principles of never playing multiple games at once, I was distracted from Dragon Age three or four times. First on Horizon: Zero Dawn – it was just released then – then on the second Witcher and even Watch Dogs 2.

And yet, I returned to Origins. A few months later, I quickly remembered the controls and continued – I decided not to start the game again, because there were already enough hours played in the save to regret losing them. Thus, my forty-hour playthrough lasted from February to June.

Perhaps the only thing that kept me playing it was the story. I thought that my friends who completed the game were exaggerating when they said that you could get stuck in the dialogues for half an hour – but this is really true. Dragon Age: Origins creates a very cozy and even slightly fabulous atmosphere for the journey of a close-knit and motley squad. The characters are always commenting on the situation, telling stories and throwing jokes at each other – I finally understood what exactly the chemistry in their relationship is constantly noticed by BioWare fans.

Just look at the feeling when you sit near the fire in the camp and listen to the stories of the squad members about their past: Alistair will share a lot of everything about his childhood at the royal court and the time when he already became a Gray Warden; you can always hear many legends and stories from Leliana, some of which are connected with her personality; and Zevran’s stories about the everyday life of assassins can often lead to laughter or, conversely, philosophical reflections on morality.

______________________________________________________________________________________________
Alistair is probably my favorite of all the characters in the series.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

The story, to my chagrin, still tended to sag in Origins. I still can’t understand what the game designer’s decision is based on to create three-hour linear dungeons in which the plot moves in absolutely no way. When, in the main quest of the dwarves, where you need to look for the Perfect One, I was redirected to a lower level for the third time with words in the spirit of “She was here, but, apparently, she moved on,” I was ready to smash the keyboard.

Fortunately, such moments do not predominate in the passage of Origins. In free time from dwarven dungeons time, the Guardian will have to solve all sorts of problems, one way or another related to the main quest. Enlisting the support of the lands against the Fifth Blight and the archdemon is not so easy: each side has a lot of worries that need help – otherwise they will not be able to provide this very support purely physically.

Near the village of Redcliffe, the dead have been creeping out of the fortress for some time now, werewolves are harassing a tribe of Dalish elves, the Circle of Mages is on the verge of collapse due to a massive breakthrough of demonic forces in the Citadel, and the gnomes in Orzamarr are in a political crisis. Each of the stories is not without its second bottom and, of course,, elections, which players will have to think long and hard about.

The story of Dragon Age: Origins manages to combine the fantasy epic of The Lord of the Rings and political subtext in the spirit of George R.R. Martin’s books – and it’s all a pleasure to take part in it all. The plot inserts with large-scale battles give you a shiver – they are so well staged – and the variability of the ending alone, where the fate of Ferelden is decided, makes your head spin – the decisions that the Guardian can make are not always as clear-cut as they may seem at first glance.

The closely related combat and progression system also took some getting used to, but once you understand how it all works, the gameplay instantly becomes captivating. Proper leveling of characters, choosing the right equipment and items that could potentially be useful in battle – all this turns into a routine in the good sense of the word after ten hours. This is simply interesting to do.

______________________________________________________________________________________________
The combat system is moderately complex, so it’s interesting to figure it out yourself.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

The battles themselves proceed, unlike the rest of the series, quite smoothly: but due to the need to sometimes make quick decisions, the tactical pause (along with the lines of health and mana/stamina indicators) become the player’s best friend. Either I was so sensitive to battles, or the game simply requires it, but the spacebar was probably the button that I pressed most often during the game.

But what I didn’t expect to see in the 2009 game were bugs that could affect the passage. My romance with Leliana could not progress to the point where her personal quest became available. As I later read on the Internet, this is a fairly rare bug: it happens if too many gifts are given to squad members at once, which is why the attitude scale fills up too quickly. There were no saves left that could be rolled back to without losing several hours of play, so I had to be content with what I had. It was a little disappointing.

After completing the main campaign, I was not too lazy to buy the largest add-on for Origins – “Awakening”. It complements the main campaign well – about 10-13 hours – and offers a small branch of the main story. The duration does not allow the narrative to sag, so the plot is presented tightly and quite excitingly.

______________________________________________________________________________________________
For some reason, the most interesting boss of the expansion was hidden behind an additional “gathering” quest.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

What is especially curious is that the Guardian here does not act as a wanderer-warrior, but as a full-fledged leader of military force: the player is given an entire fortress to manage. I liked this premise – that’s why, by the way, I wanted to get to Inquisition as quickly as possible.

The most magical (figuratively, of course) thing about Dragon Age: Origins is the lasting warm emotions it leaves in the memory. While typing all this text, I kept catching myself thinking that the main theme from the menu was playing in my head mixed with various in-game sounds like, for example, the clinking of swords or coins.

And you can’t even call it nostalgia, because not even a year has passed since the first lines of the credits floated, but as time passes, the realization comes to you that you are completely in love with Origins.

Hawk against everyone

So after finishing the original, I immediately started the sequel. I was warned that Dragon Age II was the worst entry in the series and a huge step backwards. My friends who were familiar with the universe suggested skipping it and immediately starting with Inquisition. But my decision to go through the sequel was influenced by the following situation.

During the passage of Origins, I exchanged impressions with a person who, oddly enough, only fully completed the second part, and several times. He spoke about it with delight, but, nevertheless, with the understanding that the remaining parts were of much better quality. This gave me an idea: the sequel may be comparatively worse, but as a separate project, many people perceive it quite normally.

My expectations, however, were already pretty low. I found disadvantages in everything: in the rendered and “cartoonish” combat, in the new dialogue system, in the game world, which, in fact, is just a continuous city (also with subloads – and this was in the year when TES V was released!). Two hours later, when Hawk was finally released for open swimming, I wanted to delete the game.

But I still overpowered myself and got involved. You get used to the combat system, you get used to Hawk, and you get used to the unreasonably repeated locations. The whole sequel boils down to you doing nothing but.. you get used to it to simplify all game mechanics.

______________________________________________________________________________________________
Speeding up battles by increasing the number of enemies, but with less health, is a very questionable decision.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

I am aware that BioWare was squeezed into a framework by the publisher: the developers were put on an assembly line, and for four years they were faced with the task of releasing a project every year. In 2009 and 2010 – Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2, respectively – the team had not yet run out of steam, having made, in the opinion of many, the best game for each of the franchises. But a year and a half to develop a sequel to a large-scale and epic RPG – what did Electronic Arts even hope for??

I wanted to run the second part faster. The game itself contributed to this: the entire plot is extremely linear, and interesting side quests can be counted on one hand. But in terms of plot, at least BioWare had enough strength to come up with something more or less decent.

Many accused Dragon Age II of being too intimate in its storytelling. And, in fact, she has something to blame for: even in the denouement, the variability remains virtually zero, and events that, according to the logic of things, can be easily prevented, necessarily occur – simply because the script requires it. But the notorious intimacy, oddly enough, was able to distinguish the second part from the original with one dubious, but still advantage – the story told here is more personal.

______________________________________________________________________________________________
It was expected to https://hustlescasino.uk/withdrawal/ see one of the most charismatic characters in the sequel, Varric, in the next part.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

For example, it’s safe to say that the sequel adequately explores the theme of friendship. And, although all the companions are hyperbolic freaks (a female pirate with hints of sex through words, an elf with low self-esteem, and so on), and in Hawk’s life they appear completely for no reason and unexpectedly, the chemistry between the characters still holds, which is especially noticeable in personal quests.

At first, Hawke saves not the world from a danger looming somewhere out there, but himself – together with his family, he flees Ferelden, where the Fifth Blight is in full swing. The entire first act revolves around the main character trying to do exactly what survive in Kirkwall, his new home.

And here we are faced with one of the main paradoxes of the sequel: Hawk turns out to be a well-written and charismatic hero, who, in general, is interesting to watch. But the thought can’t leave my head that Dragon Age is role-playing a game where the player must act out (without a tautology, alas, in any way) his character.

______________________________________________________________________________________________
The antagonist in the sequel is a complete cliché, and the boss fight with him is a set of the worst game design decisions in the entire series.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

In 2011, in addition to TES V: Skyrim, Dragon Age II was also competed by the Witcher sequel, where only Geralt, also a pre-composed character, is available. But the merit of CD Projekt RED is that the variability inherent in the genre is preserved in the trilogy, subject to the multifaceted character of the White Wolf. And in Dragon Age II, elections (at least the main ones) have, alas, little impact on the final outcome.

The existence of a sequel can only be justified by the fact that its events provide the foundation for the third part. It is not perceived as a full-fledged continuation – rather as a spin-off, a branch of the series. But that doesn’t change the fact that Dragon Age II is a good game. It’s just completely invisible in the shadow of Origins.

The Inquisition and the approaching end of the world

Between the second part and Inquisition I decided to take a short break. There was a risk when going through the entire series excitedly: after all, the games are quite voluminous, and identical gameplay would be very boring.

By the way, it’s worth mentioning the platform I played on – PS4. During the passage of Origins (how long can you refer to it?) the thought kept flashing through my head – how can a game with such a complex and detailed interface be played on consoles? It turned out to be quite convenient.

The reason for this very convenience may be the fact that BioWare has reworked the gameplay. Mechanics from the second part have undergone modifications and some borrowings from Origins (and again), so Inquisition is much more interesting to play than in II. She is not afraid to challenge players: on the penultimate or last difficulties, battles sometimes require coordination and control of the entire squad, which mentally refers to you-know-what part.

______________________________________________________________________________________________
Of all the advisors, Josephine (second from the right) has not previously appeared in the series – but this does not prevent her from having the same written history as everyone else.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

There is significantly more gameplay in Inquisition than in other games in the series – and this is a damn subtle nuance, since this cannot be called a definite plus for sure. Of course, there are people who are such perfectionists that they cannot complete any project if there are white spots or the same white exclamation and question marks on the in-game map, but I still straight adherent of the opinion that has already been expressed hundreds of times before me – the grind in the third part is annoying.

The worst thing about this is not even the fact that the grind exists, but the fact that the need to constantly knock out “influence” hides obvious flaws in the plot. The narrative in "Inquisition" is cheerful and unfolds quite dashingly – but after the first credits (the second – after the last plot addition) you begin to realize that there are criminally few plot tasks.

And this is coupled with the fact that the dialogue system has finally been returned to normal (even specialized answers appeared depending on leveling), the characters are well written, and the plot again unfolds against the backdrop of a large-scale danger for all of Thedas. It’s just a shame to watch an epic story where there is even more politics than before, and then go steal blankets for the disadvantaged.

______________________________________________________________________________________________
In Inquisition you can hold full-fledged trials: they offer intricate dilemmas, although they have little impact on the further development of events.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

It would seem that it sounds cool – you go to large and varied locations, clear the area from unwanted elements, set up outposts: in general, expand the influence of your military organization. The only problem is that the enemies will respawn if you just move fifty meters away; outposts are local replacements for towers (towers! in Dragon Age!), and “influence” is nothing more than points that are awarded for all sorts of activities and with which you can open story missions.

And all this management of the Inquisition is felt in a similar way. No, you don’t actually send spies and don’t send corps to where it’s needed – you just choose one of the above so that the mini-task on the map can be completed, and as a reward you get… some armor, weapons or something like that. Just imagine that you are sent to suppress an uprising in the city of N, and when you return to the shelter, the soldiers bring you a staff, which can be picked up from an ordinary enemy.

This is very reminiscent of managing a private military company in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker or The Phantom Pain. You seem to be a big shot: you send entire companies to fight, and in return you get experience and a certain amount of money. Breaks immersion completely.

______________________________________________________________________________________________
Switching to Frostbite brought beautiful graphics to the game.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

This approach is meant to instill in the player a sense of the influence that the Inquisition spreads across the world, but it simply doesn’t work as well as it should. You have nothing to lose by, say, helping someone with military force – no risks. Hypothetical help is just an attempt to give an ordinary check mark on the canvas of the game world a plot meaning, thanks to which the player will receive another staff or sword. Even pumping up the “Inquisition Apparatus”, where the description states “your garrisons have mastered new combat tactics,” ultimately gives an increase to the Inquisitor’s strength indicator. Well, really, where is the previous attention to detail??

So it turns out that we can only rely on the plot. As I noted above, it is dynamic enough to captivate casual players like me. Aside from my grumbling about how the entire dynamic is ruined by having to grind between story missions, it would be an injustice to Inquisition not to mention bringing variety back into the series. Starting with the usual story choices (which In fact influence the world, and not like in the second part) and ending with the different backstory of the main character – everything is in place.

______________________________________________________________________________________________
Direction with characteristic musical accompaniment often takes your breath away.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

In general, after Hawke, playing such an influential character as the Inquisitor is a real pleasure. I managed to create a main character who was able to form a stable, far from faceless image. Nonsense and ridiculous cringes in the dialogues are kept to a minimum, so it’s not difficult to associate the Inquisitor with yourself.

Since the player will have to manage a powerful military organization, there are actually more politicians here, as I, again, said, than before. The Inquisition takes part in negotiations, attends events and organizes military offensives – and it is fascinating. The mission alone at the ball, where you need to prevent/observe (underline as appropriate) the murder of the empress, is worth it – although slightly linear, but tastefully done.

What really deserves respect is the care with which BioWare paid simulations of the worlds that players left behind in the first two parts. References, cameos and even direct participation of some key characters from Origins and II are commonplace for Inquisition, and such moments do not pass without emotion. I was so scared when Alistair appeared on the screen, you won’t believe it!

Moreover, “Inquisition” with this approach manages to continue and even complete some of the storylines of the previous parts. The little dwarf girl, who during Origins asked the Guardian to convey news about her to the Circle of Mages, appears in the third part as a specialist in enchanting armor, and the tender story of the friendship between Hawke and Varrick very emotionally finds its conclusion in the second act of “Inquisition”.

The relationships between the characters in Inquisition are a whole different story. They are well-written, so stopping by to chat with them after each story mission is a common thing. By the end of the story, which takes about 40-50 hours, you really feel a connection with everyone in the Inquisitor’s inner circle – and this is something that BioWare has always managed. What are the novels in the game worth: after completing the branch with Josephine, I will take the liberty of saying that Inquisition has the cutest and most emotional novels in the series.

So it turns out that the third part is very, very ambiguous. An epic plot, where political intrigue alternates with well-staged cutscenes, rapidly gains height… and crashes on the rocks of a hopeless grind. Dragon Age: Inquisition is when you are more happy with even an hour and a half dungeons (not the best example of a return to roots) than with the prospect of grinding until you’re blue in the face.

We can talk for a long time about what contributed to such a changeable quality of the “Inquisition”. It’s no secret that the game was first supposed to be an MMORPG in the Dragon Age universe, and as a result, the developer had to quickly remake the game into a single player. The transition to Frostbite rails, where the mechanics had to be developed from scratch, could also have had an impact.

And if in a three-year development cycle, given such a high volume of work, BioWare was able to produce a really high-quality game – the quality of Inquisition is stupid to deny – then one can only guess how much work on the errors of the fourth part, which has been in development for several years, will be visible.

What conclusions did I draw for myself after immersing myself in such a huge and detailed world for more than a hundred hours?? Of course – it was not in vain. The Dragon Age series gives the player that feeling that every high-quality fantasy role-playing game has – a sense of involvement in the events taking place, the understanding that something really depends on you. And, even despite the jumps in quality from part to part, the series is worth checking out.

Amid all the hysteria over the last year regarding Electronic Arts regarding the failure of Mass Effect: Andromeda and the monetization of Star Wars: Battlefront II, I continue to believe that BioWare will get back on track with the release of Dragon Age 4. Still, it will also be affected by the fact that the project will be developed by the head studio, and not a division, and Casey Hudson, the head of development of many of the studio’s masterpieces, will return to production.

Excellent text for the first blog.
Looks like there’s a new addition to the camp of good RPG lovers)

The most magical (figuratively, of course) thing about Dragon Age: Origins is the lasting warm emotions it leaves in the memory. While typing all this text, I kept catching myself thinking that the main theme from the menu was playing in my head mixed with various in-game sounds like, for example, the clinking of swords or coins.

And you can’t even call it nostalgia, because not even a year has passed since the first lines of the credits floated, but as time passes, the realization comes to you that you are completely in love with Origins.

Ehh… How familiar is this?.
Like you, I was introduced to the RPG genre through Dragon Age: Origins and found myself simply in love with this game and this genre.

True, I touched Dragon Age 2 long before the announcement of the Inquisition. And I really tried to find something good in the game. Even more than that, my love for the first part was so strong that in these attempts I completed the second part three times. And every time there was a growing feeling that I was fucked and those advantages that I had already found turned out to be dummies, while there were more and more disadvantages. If you’re interested, you can read one comment in which I described in relatively detail my opinion about the second part.

I started playing Inquisition after finishing the third Witcher (which was great, but those same didn’t evoke emotions like DA:O did) and was almost unimpressed. As a result, I gave up the passage after the episode at court (with an assassination attempt), unable to withstand the grind.
True, I heard that the final DLC has a very cool story and that’s why I’m now replaying Origins again,
before entering the Inquisition again (I’ll just skip DA2, thanks to DA Keep)

Actually, I’ve played a lot of great RPGs, but.. those same ones emotions, only Pillars of Eternity aroused my emotions (in which there may not be as much epicness and scale as in Dragon Age: Origins (although there is still something), but something the same magical one no less), which I highly recommend.
P.S. Somehow I signed too much.
Probably after reading your story I wanted to tell my own.
Anyway, good luck with your blogging (and getting a mower on Friday).

As for the “Inquisition”, I have developed such a form so that the grind does not get boring – just force yourself after each story mission to go down to the side ones, even if there is enough “influence”.

This won’t get boring (sometimes running around the world is useful and interesting), and the plot will progress adequately.

I made such mistakes – after the storming of the fortress, I immediately ran to the ball, inspired by such a vigorous development of the plot, and then I was faced with the fact that I needed to accumulate 40 influence from scratch..

“Stranger” is quite a good DLC, but purely in terms of plot, since besides that there is nothing else there. And it’s a good lead-in to the fourth part.

I read it with pleasure! And if the recent translation difficulties pushed me a little to re-go through Origins again, now I’m really itching 🙂

And if in a three-year development cycle, given such a high volume of work, BioWare was able to produce a really high-quality game – the quality of Inquisition is stupid to deny – then one can only guess how much work on the errors of the fourth part, which has been in development for several years, will be visible.

This is really encouraging. If comrades still focus on the quality of content, and not on its quantity, then I think we will get the game we are waiting for. What attracted me most to Origins were the well-developed secondary quests. And even in the second part, which I also love by the way, there were enough good secondary tasks, but this was not the case in the Inquisition. I would cut out half the game, with all the "take/fetch" ones, and I would like it half as much. I think after the release of Anrthem, also from the head studio, it will be clear in which direction and the Age of Dragons will move..

I really liked it. In general, I rarely read pulp reading, but this is truly amazing. I’ve been wanting to take both ME and DA for about 5 years now. I know very well how cool these games are, but there are so many cool games around, so many unplayed. Closer to old age, perhaps :c

I remember the feeling when I discovered this game for the first time) The funniest thing is that I learned about Dragon age: Origins itself from the news about the demo of the character editor.
And even though I was already familiar with the RPG genre, which became my favorite, Dragon Age made an indelible impression on me. The atmosphere of dark fantasy (just look at Larin’s story on the deep paths), the impossibility of making the only right decision, the interaction between characters – all this was new to me, and therefore fascinated.

While typing all this text, I kept catching myself thinking that the title theme from the menu was playing in my head

It was at this moment that the musical composition began to play in my head, I even wanted to replay this game again, despite the number of playthroughs that had already taken place.

As for the second part, I personally liked it a little less than the first, probably due to the same chemistry between the characters, moreover, it was more personal, sometimes tragic and dark, the story was catchy. The only thing that really upset me was the huge number of repeating locations.

The impressions from the Inquisition were spoiled by the empty, albeit beautiful, landscapes and the grind, “senseless” and merciless.

The worst thing about this is not even the fact that the grind exists, but the fact that the need to constantly knock out “influence” hides obvious flaws in the plot.

And if I replayed the previous parts every now and then, I was only able to finish this one a couple of times, despite the fact that overall I liked the game)
P.S.

References, cameos and even direct participation of some key characters from Origins and II are commonplace for Inquisition, and such moments do not pass without emotion.

This moment really didn’t leave me without emotions; receiving only a letter/task on the command desk from one of my favorite characters was somewhat disappointing >

So in Dragon Age II, too, houses are loaded separately. The problem is that the world of Skyrim is huge compared to Kirkwall.

I replayed the first DA for the 12th time literally a year ago… for me it is still relevant, this great game. She’s just something. 2 games have aroused such emotions in me all the time, this is The Witcher (the first part, when you understand in hints that Alvin is the Master of the Order, how you are trying to get through the old woman to Shani, the human trial of the Witch in the first chapter… what the hell is the plot there) and of course DAO. But I haven’t completed The Witcher more than 10 times, but I want to return to DAO even now… This is probably my favorite game.
The second part has very strong DLC. Well, they completely change the perception of the game… why was the main game made at 2.5 locations, still remains a mystery to me. But the work with the characters is the best in the series, in my opinion. And I like the combat 🙂
Completed part 3 3 times. 2 of which after the release of all DLC. And I liked the game too. And grind, well, I don’t even know. There are more than enough influence points… but collecting quests for stones, etc., yes, too much. And it’s not even about collecting – it’s about reward. COLLECT ALL THE STONES IN ALL LOCATIONS AND OPEN THE DOOR IN THE OASIS to kill the demon in a couple of seconds. This is the main disappointment of the Inquisition for me. Oh, and the excessive pathos of the story..

With initiative)
I have a question for everyone – what exactly is meant by the concept of “grinding” – marking scattered cargo, collecting plants, collecting pieces of glass, etc? If so, then they are completely unnecessary for gaining influence points – running around the location killing enemies and additional side missions, including party members (excellent in my opinion) are quite enough to gain influence and move on to the main missions (tested personally). So why does everyone so insistently call the Inquisition a grind and “throw tomatoes at it”??
I will say for myself – I love the Inquisition – I like the heroes and their relationships (which is why I love biowar games), the plot and missions (not all, of course), excellent locations (again, not all, but there are favorites) and even the opportunity to equip a fortress)

Skyrim is a bad example, loading individual houses in the city and dungeons in the province, and the cities themselves are loaded separately. Since Part 3 it has even deteriorated a little. But The Witcher 2 and GTA 4 – compared to previous parts – are a completely seamless world, buildings are loaded upon entry, and all this before the release of TES V.

Not bad. I read about your first encounter with Origins and see myself in 2010. Nostalgia. Catch something plus in PM)

And I didn’t have enough of such mean things in the third part. firstly, it was atmospheric and forced us to spend resources responsibly. After that quest I really felt like I was on an expedition

And the only negative is the paths in the dungeons of the gnomes… I have a live-action role-playing game based on Dragon Age coming up in the summer, and I should brush up on Origins, but when I remember about this underground part of the game, I cringe.

I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone in DA has their own least favorite piece, I never liked it
Dream in the tower of magicians
When I went there for the first time, I got really lost. In subsequent replays I overcame this part normally, but it is still “so-so” for me for a number of other reasons.

In general, after Hawke, playing such an influential character as the Inquisitor is a real pleasure.

Hey you, yes you, Grand Inquisitor, destroying hordes of demons and closing portals to hell, you, whose decisions elevate people to the throne and overthrow it, you, destroying dragons like rabbits, sew us jackets, otherwise we walk around the camp and cannot leave.

Well, of course you missed the advantages of the second part. To hell with the combat – this is clearly a matter of taste (on the contrary, I don’t like the slasher nature of the third part), but there is very little roleplay in the second part – you are either a good Hawk, or funny, or bad. At key moments you usually have a choice of two (!) options, but I’m generally silent about the hopelessness of the elections. Although no, I will say: no matter how you try to maintain peace between Qunari and the mayor’s office, nothing will work; taking the side of Arishok will not work; to take the side of the templars and, together with the evil aunt, chop up all the magicians and live happily (or not so happily) – nothing will work out.

As far as I understand, what you are most dissatisfied with is the tailoring of jackets. Well, don’t sew them! You’re an inquisitor, so fuck off, I don’t know what the scumbags with their jackets think they are. Beat the wicked, execute the freaks and live your life (within certain limits, of course)

Thank you, I read it with pleasure, although I only completed Origins, the second part somehow could not captivate me, and I simply abandoned the third and still have not been able to return due to the abundance of other high-quality games that came out after Inquisition. But these are my personal problems, and yes, congratulations on the well-deserved mower, I didn’t even doubt it.

Well, I’m clearly not one of those who went to kindergarten when Origins was released 😀

But the “old school” still hides a partial truth: it’s difficult to call the first Dragon Age exactly that word, although for me it was a truly new gaming experience. Hence the quotes.

Before I start the story about love and hate in Russian game development, I’ll tell you a little background.

It’s worth starting with the fact that I didn’t have any hopes for the game Immortal. Tales of Old Rus‘ . I’m very far from Papsuev’s universe, and I missed the game’s early access, so the release of a card roguelike in a Slavic setting didn’t particularly interest me. But everything changed after I visited Red Expo. There were always a lot of people at the game stand, and they were clearly passionate about the process. I looked at some nice art, felt the atmosphere, and even stole a beautiful poster. And then, by a happy coincidence, the key to the game fell into my hands. And unexpectedly for myself I fell in love.

I unironically began to enjoy it from the first minutes of launch. Before I knew it, I had played for 6 hours in two sessions, although it seemed like I had just turned on the computer. But this is rather a merit of the original: Slay the Spire was addictive like a drug. While I had it on my phone, I couldn’t do anything other than play it. Damn game… So the authors of Immortal did not break what was already working well, and the main mechanics were carefully transferred to the SSR.

What do we have? This is a nice card roguelike. There are four heroes with attack, defense and unique skill cards around which their tactics are built. Each hero has his own little plot: find his sister, take revenge on an old enemy and… something else. The plots are not of particular value and are not going to compete with novels. I have already forgotten some parts, and this is not the main thing – after all, the ultimate goal of the game is to defeat Koshchei (this is not a spoiler, his name is literally in the title). The main thing is that it’s fun to play. The cycle “Start the game, level up your character, lose/win, open new cards” is addictive.

Even a quick glance reveals that this is a hybrid of Slay the Spire and The Darkest Dungeon. The authors took a lot, but did not forget to add unique features. I won’t go into them in detail – there is a cool material about this from Katerina Krasnopolskaya. I was captivated by the setting.

The setting of old Russian fairy tales is very familiar and pleasant. Colorful characters and monsters delight the eye. Objects familiar from children’s fairy tales evoke warm feelings, and how wonderful it is to play for your favorite hero – Dobrynya! True, evil spirits sometimes deviate greatly from traditional Slavic folklore and turn either into a product of Cthulhuism or into an element of Gothic fantasy.

Video backdrops of forests, fields, swamps and other places of folk battles, along with a wonderful soundtrack from the author of Pathfinder, left me no chance not to fall in love with this game.

I spent 23 hours in the game and was determined to write something laudatory. Talk about the disadvantages, but convey to the reader that the game is cool! Of course, during this time I noticed some shortcomings.

No matter which character you play as, you will have the same tactics. Yes, Varvara can move opponents around the field and drag them to her side; Dobrynya, like a real hero, can give strong slaps and wrap himself in armor so that even a cannon shot cannot penetrate him; Vasilisa has fairy mothers who are charged from played cards and can both shoot with fire and protect from misfortunes, alternating this with unimaginable buffs; and Alyosha (local Geralt) has a unique mechanic for overheating a wooden pistol… which multiplies its damage. It seems to sound like each hero is unique, and so it is, but this uniqueness is of little use.

To a lesser extent, https://jammyjackcasino.uk/bonus/ it all depends on what cards you collect on your journey or which of the three options you choose at a classic fairy-tale crossroads. The main role is played by local curiosities – artifacts with passive skills that can be obtained as a reward for battle or bought in the store. You can collect a great set of cards, but get useless artifacts and have difficulty getting through the second boss out of four. Or you can assemble such an “imba” that you can easily demolish even the last boss. And for every hero this rule is the same.

Essentially every run is the same. You see a pendant icon at a crossroads and go there in the hope that something good will happen. But it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the game.

It wasn’t spoiled by confusing descriptions of card effects either. There could be such a situation: cards impose a unit of “Bleeding”, “Burning” or “Dizziness”. Attention, geeks, try to guess what each of these effects does? The correct answer is the same. They all deal damage equal to the number of effect points. And I still don’t understand what the difference is between “Fortify”, “Starting Armor” and “Toughness”, or between “Finishing” and “Crush”. There is a difference, but minimal.

But every skill – positive, negative, every gift, boss skill and condition – has a small icon. Some icons are unique to certain mobs. And the further you advance, the more effects you impose on yourself, and the more difficult your opponents become. As a result, at the final boss the screen may be littered with two dozen such icons.

The screen is not mine, but the picture is clear. These yellow, green and blue icons are a small part of what can be on the screen.

And it’s hard to navigate. At the average difficulty level, you simply apply positive effects to yourself and negative effects to the evil spirits. All this works until the final boss – Koshchei. But my patience ran out on him.

Pay attention to this picture.

It depicts the paths of heroes. You need to go through a small chain of quests to unlock Koshchei. And solely on the desire to defeat the enemy and see how the story ends, I dragged myself and went through the same cycle of races over and over again. And so, when 20 hours later I got to the main evil, the game politely told me – “Go through the game 4 more times.”. And not just to go through, but for each hero several times". And from such a disregard for stretching out the final stage, my patience ran out. How many more times do I have to do the same thing before they show me the unfortunate end credits??!

And you might think that you just need to put together a more impressive build and demolish the boss, but no. The game has a limiter. If you haven’t defeated every final boss for every hero, then Koschey is so awesome that even if you had all the wonders of Old Rus‘, you won’t survive even his tenth attack.

And I decided to count how many identical runs must be made to beat the game. A moment of entertaining mathematics!

Each hero has 5 mandatory points. You can’t do them in one run. Even if you met the conditions at the very beginning of the journey, the next stage is at the next race.

4 heroes, 5 stages each – 20 races. Ideal, provided that you did not lose, did not miss the task and successfully completed the run. The margin of success in my case was approximately 25%. T.e. to open up the opportunity to fight Koshchei, I made at least 25 identical forays. And if you consider that at first I was just learning to play, the number is a little higher.

But let’s stop at 25. 25 identical games and the boss is open to your helpless attempts. Final fight and game over. But no. Now, be so kind as to make 2-3 more forays for each of the heroes in order to collect the final bosses and a more or less normal build. That is, another 8-12 attempts + 3 errors.

In total, the game wants me to beat it at least 40 times. Moreover, all content ends on the twelfth attempt. There are no new mobs in the game, no modifiers, no bosses, no skills. Just kindly repeat until you go crazy or run out of patience.

I ran out of patience and successfully deleted the game. Perhaps someday I will return and try to defeat the Immortal. But for now, this is the most mediocre and blatant waste of time I’ve seen in a long time.

Yes, this is not an analytics post, but an ordinary whining of a person who is upset in the game. At the beginning of the passage, I sincerely wanted everything to end as rosy as it began. But everything was ruined either by the inexperience of the developers or by poor balance, which makes the final boss impassable even on the most immaculate build.

I will gladly buy the art book and soundtrack to support the developers, because their project still has more pros than cons. And I really love the Slavic setting, so I cannot be indifferent to projects that glorify folklore that is close to me.

Have you played Immortal?. Tales of Old Rus‘? Tell us about your journey. Maybe it’s just me who is so armless, and the game is actually very easy and fast.
