How I got introduced to games.

17. September 2025/0 Comments/in blog-413 /by manfred

By the age of 4, I clearly remember that I was playing on the Sega Mega Drive 2 (I live in Nakhodka, we didn’t have a smell near Vladivostok and Genesis) in the cult games Rock’n’roll racing, road rash 1-3, Streets of Rage 1-2, Zero Tolerance, Sonic the Hedgehog, Desert Strike, Duna 2, Sunset Riders, Mortal Kombat, etc.d. about which I will now express my opinion.I remember even at the age of 12, having saved up 600 rubles each with a friend, we bought 2 SEGA consoles and cartridges in addition and again stuck in front of the TV, it’s a pity they burned out.

These were the most hurricane-like motorcycle races that ever existed. For this I competed with neighbors, friends, my brother, and then I already dreamed of a hub that would unite several consoles. It’s not a sin to remember the pursuit of helicopters and jumping on their rotors, the savory endings of losses and victories, and, of course, a slap on the head from your brother if you lost.

I only remember the Blizzard campaign because of them. The coolest isometric races, they gave me more pleasure compared to Twisted Metal and Full auto.I make a face like Snake and I will never forget the announcer’s talk

For me this was the first shooter and I still consider it better than its direct competitor in the form of Wolfinstein 3D.It was beautiful (for that time), you could jump, squat, etc.d.He scared me and I didn’t go further than 4 elevators, I was afraid of bugs, I watched my brother go by

2D Action that I remember with gritting of teeth, memorizing enemies and bosses, cursing my brother, etc.d.

I did not describe all https://tropicanzacasino.uk/bonus/ the games, but there were no games that looked like slag or trash, they were all of extremely high quality and were enough for many evenings, there was also a book of 1000 games on Sega, codes, walkthroughs.I also mentioned Dendy, but it was mainly with my brother and friends.

Then I remember how my father, arriving from long flights, brought laptops, on which my brother installed CS and received a slap in the back of the head for it.There was also a Japanese version of the Playstation with its black disks[NTSJ] and some pink controller with motion capture (which no one mastered).

But there were very few games on it and everything was in pure Japanese.Biohazard (Resident Evil), Gran Turismo, Kickboxing KO-2 (something like that), Cheto with Russian terrorists and a train and something else.I also played with a friend on a normal PS one in Carmaggedon, Rainbow Six and Spec ops.

For me, this is the scariest horror game I’ve played, I recently tried to get through it, and the atmosphere at home was just as scary as before.I used to hide under the blanket while my father played it

There is also a lot to be said about the other games.I never saved in Biohazard and played in 1 sitting for literally 8 hours.I remember a friend had a monochrome display, while playing Raimbow six we chose roles if we played in 3, in Carmageddon we divided the money and wrote it down on a piece of paper, but his disk was stuck and we only played levels 1 to 5, and Spec Ops almost got through, getting stuck like on chapter 4 or 5 where there were nuclear warheads and realized too late how to get through.

Then my father brought a Sega Dreamcast… With a lot of games, of course (it’s a pity there was no Shemnue). There were quacks and Unreal Tornament, but still, most of all I remember Resident evil 3, Legacy of Kain Soul reaver and of course Crazy Taxi Driver. We also played a lot through it in the Snes emulator, it seems, and there I completed Wolfinstein 3D.

I, as it is logical to assume, was stuck in Quake 2,3 and UT.While my brother and friend enthusiastically passed the soul absorber, although I also liked the game. Also, a friend also had a Dreamcast with a library of games and the first game in the Stealth genre was Head Hunter in my life.It still works for him, but the drive needs to be repaired, it won’t spin the disks.

They also gave us a PS2 where my brother played Grandia, and my friends and I played Tekken 5 and Soul Calibur 3.

And so I approached my 1 PC, it appeared on me approximately after the release of Gta San Andreas. It worked on socket 433 with a 4 by 1 stump.4 GHz with rare 512 MB RIMM RAM and GeForce 5400.The first games were Return To Castle Wolfinstein, GTA san andreas, Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and a couple of games that I don’t remember.I remember RTCW the most and I replayed it several times.

And so this year I got a PS3 with Last of Us and GT6.It would be nice to read your introductions to the world of games. And happy belated new year
